Melissa earned her veterinary degree from The University of Queensland while concurrently earning her PhD in veterinary infectious diseases from The University of Georgia, investigating anthelmintic resistance in gastrointestinal nematodes of livestock.
Melissa earned her bachelor’s from the University of Florida in animal sciences and master’s degree in meat science from The University of Georgia where focused on enhancement of pork loins and evaluation of broiler strains for meat quality; and concurrently served as the meat judging coach.
